January 1978 Blizzard hits Camero!

I remember the Lindsay Snowstorm in 69'. I was listening to
Gorden Barnes on the radio and he kept up-dating the
snowfall figures. NYC was paralyzed with 15"-20" of
hard-driven wet snow. The 70s were quiet when I was
"The Weatherman" of RPHS, but then came 1978 with
2 back to back monsters.
In the 1980s we had a few big snow jobs, and a March
Blizzard in 93', but then came January 1996 and we
finally had a 3-foot blizzard. It was like icing on the
meteorological cake!

What a way to spend a holiday!

Weather has always been of keen interest to me. How could a
person be aware of what the world outside holds - if they
don't know the weather. I am a member of the American
Meteorological Society(AMS), a writer of weather
materials. I am going to have a seperate web-site for
my weather related matters in the near future, by the
way! I am a correspondent with Accu-weather, and my
analysis on the 96' Blizzard can be seen in
Wendell Schott's book of the same name.

The Flood of Summer of 86'

This was after the basin was built!!

I GREW UP IN A FLOOD ZONE! Every week there was a flood
it seemed, and even when they built the basin in town we had a
few impressive floods. The floods of the 60s and 70s still
remain locked in my consciousness as an historic
period. Maybe all that water should be here now
during these drought stricken summers.
