40"+ SNOW FOR
NYC AGAIN IN
WINTER 2005-2006!
The winter of 2005-2006 featured early snowfall
in December with snow mounting to 12" in three
seperate storms. The winter relaxed for a month
and 1/2 with January record warm across the
United States, with one icy changeover storm
mid-month for NYC. February featured colder
and a huge snowstorm (Blizzard of 2006)
on the 12th resulted in a record 26.9" snow at
Central Park, NYC --the most ever, and 24" at
Newark..including thundersnows. There was
some snow in March but storms fizzled, and
one noteable snow burst in early April with
thunder rocketing the total snowfall to 40" for
the season, the 4th consecutive year in a row
over 40"!!!!!
